Here is my strategy for this blog. Yeah, I didn’t just randomly create this blog :-) I f you are thinking about blogging, have a strategy before you start.

My first motivation to start this blog was to be one of the first people with an authority site for the keyword “uVme”. This keyword is the new global brand name for the business opportunity I am promoting. Other people scrambled to register domain names but the best ones were quickly snapped up.

However, new domain names are viewed with suspicion by search engines since they are yet to prove their worth in providing visitor value. Length of registration is one factor, a registration period of only 1 year for a business site may ring alarm bells but a longer period of registration would show commitment. But best of all is an established domain name that has been ranking well for years. In my case I created a sub domain off my established domain name.

Next, I uploaded the blogging script to the sub domain web site and configured the template and options. Within a few hours, the new blog was showing up in my web browser.

The next task was to quickly seed it with posts related to uVme. Once a few posts were in place, I linked to the sub domain site from the main URL. This provided an entry point for the search engine spiders.

The next phase was to add posts that drew in targeted traffic i.e. people that may be interested in joining the new uVme opportunity.

Then I needed to post about subjects to introduce things about uVme such as the potential of online games and about the company etc. This is the stage I am at now.

So, do you get the idea? You have to keep in mind that you will get visitors to your blog and target your content according to your aims. My aims so far are to:

  • Get listed in search engines for the brand uVme
  • Attract potential new members for the business opportunity
  • Provide information about the business potential and the details of this particular business
  • Provide marketing tips for people to build their business

So keep in mind your strategy for your blog and if you don’t have a strategy, get one!
