Tracking clicks to your affiliate page is essential to test the performance of it with various forms of promotion. Here’s how to do it:

Unfortunately the stupid page uses a redirect that lasts for ages. Not only does this look bad but it makes it hard to track clicks.

So there is only one way to do it as far as I know. The method is to frame the page and have some code to record the clicks to the framed page URL. I have this method working for me now after a few hours coding.

With my system I record the affiliate ID of the team member, the referring page, an Ad variant tag, the time of the click, the IP address of the visitor and the browser they used.

This helps a lot with identifying where the click came from and checking for real people against search engine robots and multiple clicks by the same person trying to waste your advertising budget.

I’m also adapting the destination page to the affiliate site of the affiliate that advertised uvme so they get the credit. With this data, a team can work out the most effective way to advertise.
