uVme Traffic Report
This kind of sucks. I signed up with BlogCatalog to get more traffic to my blog but they just hijack my site and rank #1 on Google for my content. #1 on Google is like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow but I get listed at #6 for the search term uvme games business
The Google snippet from their site is using my content. So this content scraping site is out-ranking me. I will check what happens in the next few days and maybe cancel my association with this site.
In my stats I am not seeing any links from this company so they need to be got rid of I think. I just deleted my link to them from my template.
Actual traffic to the site is around 35 unique visitors per day. In July when I launched the site I had 136 uniques, then in August I had 786 uniques. It looks like I may l get over 1000 unique visitors this month. Wouldn’t it be cool if they all joined uVme and did the same as me
Search engine bots are very active on this site so to get them diverted to your site it is a good idea to post a comment. Here is the latest crawler activity:

I installed the Do Follow Plugin to tell these bots that I am happy for them to traverse your link and credit your site. So all you need to do is post a comment to get these bots spilling over to your site for the lifetime of this site and hence get your content listed on their search engines.
Of course I will swiftly delete any spam posts. You should ideally say something constructive that our readers will benefit from rather than just some “great post” crap.

This is a pretty common issue with some of our members and it’s seem pretty split as to how they feel about it. some are glad that they are indirectly ranked #1 for a certain term that they may not have been able to rank for on their own, while others, like yourself, don’t want your actual blog being pushed down in the rankings by our listing. Whichever way you deceide to go, we are glad you gave us a chance.
I also noticed our listing for your blog also ranks highly for the term uvme games which may indirecly lead to more traffic to you blog.

Hi Daniel,
I blame the search engine algorithm for being wrong to list directory entries higher than the actual site where the site is already in the first page of search results.
The idea of a directory is that people find interesting sites that they wouldn’t otherwise find doing a Google search.
If a site is not highly ranked in Google then I’m sure they don’t mind your site outranking them for them for a reference to their site.
Now I am linking back to you again because of your comment
Yes, I notice the high ranking uVme games entry in the big G. Thanks.
